Zona Geraldine (nee Fuhrmann) Miske passed away peacefully April 6, 2015 at the age of 90 in West Bend, WI. She was born July 14, 1924 in Springfield Township, Marquette County, the daughter of John and Wilhelmina (nee Bonier) Fuhrmann. She attended local schools, graduated from Oxford High School, attended Waushara County Normal School and graduated from the Stevens Point Teachers College.
She was a teacher at Wayne Center Elementary School from 1942 to 1945. She married Edgar Miske on October 13, 1945 at St. John's Evangelical Church in Westfied, WI. They farmed and raised their family together in the Town of Wayne.
She is survived by her children, Del (Debbie), Don, Stan (Debbie), Steven (Connie), and Karen (Dave). She is also survived by six grandchildren: Alaina, Jonathan, Rachel, Justin, Andrew, and Grace; one great-grandchild, Brody, a sister-in-law, LaVerne Ferguson, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years and a grandson, Evan.
Zona was a member of First Baptist Church where she was very active, especially in music ministries. She was also active in community activities such as 4-H, Kewaskum School Board, St. Joseph's Hospital Board, Washington County Historical Society, and Washington County Landmark Commission. Zona loved family reunions, music, flower gardening and birds.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 10, 2015 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church (2300 S Main St, West Bend, WI 53095) with Pastor Bruce Dunford presiding. The Visitation will be held at the church on Friday, April 10th from 9:30 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Washington County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church, or a charity of your choice.
