Obituary
Zane Edward Schmeling passed away on Wednesday, February 26 at the age of 43. He was born on January 9, 1982, to Glenn Schmeling and Diane (nee Hebenstreich) in Milwaukee, WI.
Zane lived in Milwaukee until 1992 when his family moved to Slinger WI. There he attended Slinger Elementary, then Slinger Middle School and graduated from Slinger High School in 2000.
Zane worked as a mechanic since high school graduation. He loved what he did and was dedicated to his job wherever he worked. He was a big Honda guy and graduated from Madison Area Technical College with an Associate Degree.
His big interest was anything about cars. He loved talking, buying, fixing and selling cars. He totally restored a Honda S2000 and was so proud of that. He made lots of friends through car groups and showing his cars at car shows. He has won many car show trophies.
He also collected Pokemon cards with Ethan. They would sit for hours on their phones showing each other the ones they found. He would be so proud to find ones to surprise Ethan with.
Zane was a very loving father, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and grandfather. He had a big heart and was a good friend to many and was always there to help whenever they needed anything. He was a very authentic guy.
Zane is survived by his mother and father, his son Ethan; his daughter Chelsea Kroll; his granddaughters Braylin and Tessa; his sisters Katti Schmeling and Karli (Steve) Goralski and his nephew Caleb Goralski. Many other relatives and many, many friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents and paternal grandparents; uncle John Schmeling; uncle John Hebenstreich and his Aunt Karon Clark.
Visitation will be on Sunday, March 9, 2025 from 12:00pm until 1:45pm at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W Paradise DR. West Bend, WI 53095) with a Time of Sharing starting at 2:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the family to further Ethan's College Education.
