Wilmer Arthur Kannenberg was born on February 15, 1934 in the Town of Jackson, WI to Herman John and Linda (nee Matter) Kannenberg. He was baptized on March 4, 1934 by Pastor Martin F. Riesche at David's Star Ev. Lutheran Church. He was also confirmed by Pastor Riesche on March 21, 1948 at David's Star and his verse is Proverbs 23:26 (NIV) "My son, give me your heart and let your eyes keep to my ways".

Wilmer served on the David's Star Finance Committee and on the ushers' team. Wilmer graduated from David's Star Ev. Lutheran Church and School and later attended West Bend Vocational School. He took up the vocation of farming with his father and later became employed at Mercury Marine in Cedarburg and Fond du Lac for 40 years.

Wilmer married Janet Mae (nee Adams) of Milwaukee, WI on May 5, 1956. Janet is a graduate of Lincoln High School of Wisconsin Rapids. She worked at Master Lock in Milwaukee, West Bend Company and Power Products in Grafton in addition to carrying out her household and family responsibilities.

The Lord blessed their marriage with three sons, Ricky, Ronald and Russell and a daughter, Kathleen Mae.

Wilmer and Janet found joy in bowling on the David's Star Bowling Team, traveling with their best friends, Gene and Sandy, camping with their family and playing cards with their card club friends. Wilmer often enjoyed helping out with the family business, even in his last days.

Mourning his death are his wife, Janet; his children, Ricky (Lonna) of Wauwatosa, Ronald (Doreen) of Jackson, Russell (Cindy) of Mayville and Kathleen (Brad) Burnett of Neshkoro; his grandchildren, Michelle, Bridgette, Matthew, Levi, Jason, Justin, Daniel, Mikayla and Jenna; great-granddaughter, Renee; his brother Delmer (Barbara) of Hartford; his two sisters-in-law Florence Adams and Christine Manke; three brothers-in-law, Leelend and Robert Adams and William Gauger and his best friend Gene (Sandy) Goll.

Preceding him in death are his parents, two sisters, Lillian and Marlene Gauger, brothers-in-law, Kenneth, Charles, Leslie and Elmer, sisters-in-law, Jane, Betty, Bernice and Grace and granddaughter, Amanda.

The Lord in his infinite wisdom, love and mercy called from this life, Wilmer Arthur Kannenberg at the age of 84.

A Funeral Service will be at 2:00PM on Monday, June 11, 2018 at David's Star Ev. Lutheran Church (2750 David's Star Dr. Jackson, WI 53037) with Rev. Kurt Loescher and Rev. Michael Woldt presiding. Visitation will be at church Monday, June 11, 2018 from 11:00AM until the time of the service (2:00PM). Interment will follow at David's Star Cemetery.
