Wes Griesemer
Wesley "Wes", Griesemer age 82 passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at the Lawlis Family Hospice after a courageous battle with colon cancer. He was born March 27th, 1942, in West Bend, WI to Raymond and Ruth (nee Held) Griesemer. He was one of four boys and the youngest of identical twins.
Wes was a graduate of West Bend High School and met the love of his life (Dorothy Ann) at Jack Winter Incorporated in Brown Deer WI. They were married, May 25, 1968, in Milwaukee WI and initially resided in Jackson WI. They were blessed with three children Lisa, Kari and Kevin and moved to Slinger WI to raise their family and continued to live there after retiring from The West Bend Company with over 35 years of service.
Wes loved and enjoyed his family. He was very involved with his children and grandchildren. He was passionate about sports and in particular baseball. In his younger years he played both Rock River and VFW Leagues. He coached softball/baseball for all three of his kids. Enjoyed taking them to see the Brewers play and eventually the grandkids too.
Wes' passion for sports went beyond baseball including basketball and football at all levels high school, college and pro. When his children and grandchildren played, he enjoyed attending their games.
Wes also enjoyed many family vacations and adventures with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Wes was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and son. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 56 years, Dorothy Ann (nee Kasseckert); children Lisa (Brian) Riley, Kari (Bob) Mueller, Kevin Griesemer and his grandchildren, Alexandra Raye and Rowan Riley, Luke and Blake Parker, and Daeton Dudovick and Annika Griesemer. He is survived by his twin brother, Stan (Ginny) Griesemer, and nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends Gary and LouAnn Riley.
Wes was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Raymond Griesemer, two brothers, Roger Griesemer and Gordon Griesemer, and sister-in-law Carol Griesemer and nephew Andrew Griesemer, mother-in-law Dorothy Ehlke, fathers-in-law Andrew Kasseckert and Ted Ehlke, brother-in-law and sister-in-law John and Bonnie Kasseckert.
A celebration of Wes' life will be on Tuesday July 23, 2024, at Divine Savior Lutheran Church (3200 County Rd K. Hartford, WI 53037) with Pastor Doug Stowe presiding. Visitation will be from 3:30pm until 4:30pm, service at 4:45pm with celebration of life and refreshments to follow in the Fellowship Hall.
