Berger, Werner B. "Mike" born in Berlin, Germany on Jan. 22, 1925. Mike passed away on Dec. 4, 2015. Husband of Dolores (Dory) for 69 years. They married on Feb. 9th, 1946. Mike was a World War II Veteran who served in Germany in the 346th Engineers. Retired from Nodell Cadillac of Glendale, where he was the body shop manager. Mike and Dory enjoyed trips to Fremont. After his retirement, Mike and Dory moved to Weyauwega, where he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and other outdoor activities with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed tending to his gardens and riding his tractor on his hobby farm. He and his wife later relocated to West Bend to be near family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Mike is survived by his wife Dory; son Michael (Judy) Berger; daughter Susan (Don) Curtis; grandchildren Shari (Val Prince) Hanson, Scott (Kara Rae) Berger, Sheila (Jerry) Kruepke , Bobby (Christa) Susen, Jenni (Kevin Lawonn) Susen, Patrick (Leanne) Wellert, Stephanie (Raghav) Mohindra, Dale (Susie) Kuklinski, Wade Curtis and Cole Curtis; great grandchildren; Jesse Hanson, Amber Hanson, Brandon Susen, Lily Susen, Rylyn Susen, Jalane Donath, Zachery Wellert, Peytyn and Kipton Goodin; son-in-laws Bob Susen and Pat Wellert; sister-in-law Pat Berger. Further survived by nieces, nephews and other dear relatives and friends. Mike was preceded in death by his parents; daughters Karen Wellert and Diana Susen; brother Harry Berger; sister Hildegard Fischer; brother-in-law Augie Fischer.
A Funeral Service and Military Honors for Mike will be held on Tue. Dec. 8th, 2015 at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W. Paradise Drive West Bend, WI 53095) at 6:00 PM with Pastor Joe Barth officiating. Visitation will take place from 4:00 PM until the time of service at 6:00 PM. Interment will take place at Wisconsin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project (4899 Belfort suite 300 Jacksonville, Florida 32256) or to a charity of your choice.
