Virginia L. Helland, 83, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2026, at her cherished home in West Bend, Wisconsin.
Born on January 3, 1943, she was the daughter of Arthur F. Poulin and Laura M. Poulin (Johnson). She graduated from Custer High School in Milwaukee.
Virginia is survived by her loving husband, James Helland; her son, James (Karen) Helland; and her daughter, Melissa (Mark) Cole. She also leaves behind five grandchildren: Ryan (Becky) Helland, Sara (Jake) Ekker, Emily Helland, Megan Cole, and Matthew Cole. To know her, is to love her.
She was an avid lover of nature and enjoyed bird watching as a member of the Riversedge Birding Club. Virginia also found great joy traveling, tending her garden, sewing, reading and cooking.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or donations made to the Riversedge Nature Center in Newburg, Wisconsin.
