Vincent A. Stockhausen was born into eternal life on April 24th, 2014, at the age of 86. He had lived in the West Bend area all of his life. He was born to John and Cecelia (Thull) Stockhausen on January 15th, 1928, in the Town of Trenton. He joined the US Army in November, 1950 and served in the Korean War. He started his own excavating business in the summer of 1955, which he operated until his retirement.
On November 9th, 1957, he married the love of his life, Janet (Schumacher), at Holy Angels Catholic Church, where they have been members ever since. They have 6 children – Sandra (Ken) Corwin, Jeff Stockhausen, Todd Stockhausen, Lance (Laura) Stockhausen, Jill (Todd) Becker, and Vickie (Michael) Groth. They have 7 grandchildren – Sarah Stockhausen, Steven Stockhausen, Nicole Corwin, Tyler Becker, Statten Corwin, Victoria Becker, and Trevor Becker – and one great-grandchild Shaylee Mc Guire.
Vincent was active in the community and contributed his time and talent to many organizations throughout his life, like the VFW, Catholic Order of Foresters, American Legion, and served on the Town of Trenton Planning Commission. He and Janet loved to travel the world; he enjoyed Polka music, and always had a welcoming beer for any visitors.
Vincent is survived by his wife Janet, their children, grandchildren and great-grandchild as well as his sister Bernadine Wollner and his brother Merlin (Donna) Stockhausen.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Jerome, Lawrence, Francis, and Cyril.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 11:30 AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend (138 N 8th Ave) with Fr. Jerry Brittain presiding. The Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday, May 3rd from 9:00 AM until 11:15 AM. Interment will follow Mass at Holy Angels Catholic Church cemetery.
