Vernon A. Schultz, age 84, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2013. He was born on August 14, 1929 to the late Baldwin and Ella (nee Jaeger). He married Marcella (nee Voigt) on August 25, 1951 in Richmond, Virginia. He served in the Army from 1951-1953 during the Korean Conflict. Vernon worked various jobs throughout his life, retiring from The Threshold at age 81. He enjoyed working and cutting wood. He especially loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marcella; cherished daughters, Maxine (Craig) Zuest of Hartford, Nancy (special friend Gerry) of West Bend, Yvonne (Jerry) Thielke of Jackson, Sherie Schultz of West Bend, Michele (Dan) Ellenbecker of Newburg; beloved grandchildren Travis, Brennan, and Tyler Groh, Cody Ott, and Ben Ellenbecker. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his son, Anthony; grandson, Cory Ott; siblings, Ilma, Mabel, Florence, Elmer, and other relatives.
The Funeral Service will be on Friday, November 8, 2013 at 2:00 PM at David's Star Lutheran Church (2750 David's Star Drive, Jackson, WI 53037) with Pastor Kurt Loescher presiding. The visitation will be at the church on Friday from noon until the time of service at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at David's Star Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to David's Star.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff members of Crossings on Chestnut especially April, Sheila, Sara, Becky, Laurie, Joyce, and Vernon's daughter, Michele, and Sara from Cedar Hospice. In addition, thanks to Dr. Olafsson, Dr. Stickney and nurses Fran, Jenny Elliott, Mary P., Dawn B., Stacy, Tracy, CNA's Christine, Khristie and Randy, Bridgett, and Mark in respiratory for their special care and support at St. Joseph's Hospital.
