Vernita Brongiel (formerly Keske, nee Bauer), 85, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2014. She was born in Hancock, WI to the late Herman and Edna (nee Krinke) Bauer. She was raised in Beaver Dam and graduated from Beaver Dam High School Class of '46. She worked at Continental Can for over 38 years, retiring in 1990. Her favorite pastimes included sewing, planting flowers, and raising birds.
She is survived by her children: Dennis Keske, Linda (Kenneth) Woodley, and Terry (Floyd) Roberts; grandchildren, Christopher Hayes and Natalie (Robert) Glejf; great-grandchildren, Emma, Brennan, and Leah; special "adopted" daughter, Bonnie Peters; special friend, Marie Rosenquist, Tom and Nancy Rasmussen. She is further survived by many other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Orin Keske and second husband, Phillip Brongiel; son-in-law, Jeffrey St. Pierre; grandsons, Jason Roberts and Justin Woodley; sister, Betty Krause.
The Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W Paradise Drive, West Bend). The Funeral Service will take place at the funeral home on Thursday, May 8th at 6:00 PM with Deacon Ron Schneider presiding. Private interment at Graceland Cemetery in Milwaukee. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to her great-grandchildren's education fund, checks payable to Terry Roberts.
