Laufer, Thomas "Tom" W., age 73, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2013. He was born on May 28, 1940 to the late Mark and Agatha (nee Esselman) in West Bend. He graduated from West Bend High School. He married Shirley (nee Fohl) on September 4, 1965 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Marshfield, Wisconsin. He retired from the Washington County Highway Department in 1998. He loved going to Lake Camelot, playing Blackjack at the casino, and above all, spending time with his family.

He is survived by wife of 48 years, Shirley; children, William (Michele) Laufer, Theodore Laufer, and Jan (Jason) Janz; grandchildren, Emily and Sarah Laufer, Tyler Laufer, Sean, Mark, and Jon Janz; siblings, Doris Backes, Beverly Winkler, Eugene (Glenda) Laufer, Kay (Harvey) Wester, James Laufer, Sandy (Tony) Laufer Blake; sister-in-law, Betty Beining. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Daniel Backes, John Winkler, Noreen Laufer, Sandy Laufer, and Jerry Beining.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 11:30 AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church (138 N 8th Ave, West Bend) with Fr. Jerry Brittain presiding. The visitation will be held at the church on Saturday, October 5th from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass at 11:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice, in memory of Tom.
