Obituary

Thomas Edward Baer passed away peacefully at his home on May 21, 2026.
Born in West Bend, WI on February 2, 1936, to parents Oscar and Helen (Burckhardt).
Raised in WB, after high school he answered the call to serve his country thru the Navy. 11/1955- 10/1959. After leaving the service, he achieved his ASCE Master Automotive Certification and dedicated his career to Ford dealerships.

On June 22, 1968, he married the “love of his life”, Diana (Sina). Together they created a lifelong homestead on Little Cedar Lake (their lil’ piece of Paradise”. This June would have marked 58 years.

Tom was a faith filled man and devoted husband and father.
He is survived by his loving wife Diana, and cherished family members: Christine(Robert) Ammeter, Catherine (Razvan) Mirza, Christopher (Brenda) Baer, Cynthia (James) Dietzler, Jennifer Birch, his earthly treasures: Zachary, Samantha, Nicholas, Alison, Lindsey, Jacob, Isabelle, Roman, Benjamin, Victoria, and Maxwell.

He is further survived by sister Caroline(James) Braatz, sibling in- laws: Duane(Mary), Darlene(JT), Donna, Delores, Dorothy, Dennis, David(Diane), Debra(Troy), Dale, Darwin(Renee), and many dear nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Helen, brother Richard, Father-in-law Norbert, Mother-in-law Josephine.

Tom worked as an auto mechanic for Ford until his retirement. He was overjoyed being a Hobby farmer and looked forward to lending a hand driving his tractor to open and close the fields.
Over the years, we remember him being the “Gilligan” of our camping excursions, soothing many a fussing babies as only a grandpa can, and as a doting grandfather there was not much he chose to miss- driving the distance for: meets, games, plays, graduations etc. He loved watching his Brewers and Packers, playing cards, puzzles, and coffee.
We are grateful for his many doctors, nurses and hospice care team through Aurora.

Visitation for Thomas will be held on June 12, 2026, at 10-10:45 A.M. St Peter’s Slinger, Wi. Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 A.M. Burial with Military Honors and luncheon to follow.
