Theodore “Ted” Anton Herrmann Jr., age 89, passed away on Wednesday, May 20,2026 in Rhinelander, WI. He was born on October 28,1936, in Milwaukee, WI to the late Theodore Sr. and Lorraine (Nee: Breuer) Herrmann. Ted was married to Sandra “Sandy” (Nee:Avery) who preceded him in death in 1994.
When he was a child, Ted enjoyed spending time with his father, picking worms and fishing on the river.
Ted proudly served his country in the Army. He was processed in For Carson, Colorado, then went to Fort Hood, Texas for basic training. From there he then went to Fort, Benning, Georgia where he was in the 577 engineer from 1959-1961, he was ranked as a Corporal.
Upon his discharge from the Army, Ted worked in his brother’s cabinet shop for a year, before working at Schranz roofing until he retired in 1988. He enjoyed carpentry work and remolded many of his houses. After retirement, He enjoyed wood crafting with Sandy.
In his free time, he enjoyed doing puzzles and playing various games on his tablet. He loved to spend time with his best bud/ adopted son Jerry working on projects, especially the 1957 Chevy that he inspired Jerry to purchase for the both of them. Ted loved to be surprised by Jerry and his daughter Dawn with a trip to the Casino.
Ted is survived by his two daughters; Dawn and Tammy, adopted son Jerry, and two grandsons; Bradley and Brandon. He is also survived by his sister Virginia, as well as relatives and friends. Ted is preceded in death by his parents; Theodore and Lorraine, wife Sandy, and siblings; Bernice, Jim, Don and Sylvia.
A Graveside service with Military Honors will be held for Ted on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at Washington County Memorial Park in West Bend.
