Obituary

Terry "Big T." Carroll Dallmann,75, died Sunday May 5 th , 2024 surrounded by his family.

Terry was born in Milwaukee Wisconsin on August 22 nd , 1948 to Howard and Shirley (nee Boettcher) Dallmann. After graduating from Riverside High School in 1967, Terry was drafted into the United States Army and served his country during the Vietnam War stationed in Germany. Upon his return, Terry married the love of his life, Mary C. Murphy in 1971. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee in 1977 with a degree in Social Work and found his true calling working with the elderly residents of Washington County. Terry spent 36 years as a social worker at the Samaritan Health Center in addition to many years serving the residents of Beechwood Nursing Home. His patience, kindness, and friendship brought light to those in the final chapters of their lives.

Terry lived a life of service, always focused on the needs of others before his own. His greatest joy was spending time with Mary, his beloved wife of 53 years, his daughter Margaret and her family, and his son Michael and his wife. Terry was an avid golfer most of his life and spent his later years watching his favorite sport teams; Green Bay Packers, Marquette Golden Eagles, Milwaukee Brewers, and Milwaukee Bucks'. Typically, a man of few words, Terry could talk for hours about the most recent game he watched.

Terry fully embraced the life of an Irishman, (overlooking he was in fact, not Irish at all), after marrying an Irish lass and enjoyed many trips to Ireland, yearly pilgrimages to Irish Fest, and a daily dose of Guiness, "It's good for you!" On a more local front, Terry loved his daily lunches at Sandy's Barton Café and laughing with his favorite server Emily. It truly brought him great happiness.

Terry is predeceased by his parents, Howard and Shirley Dallmann, father and mother-in-law Ellis and Catherine Murphy, brothers-in-law James Murphy and Jonathan Murphy, sister-in law Rita Murphy, dear nephew and friend Dennis Murphy, nephew David Murphy, and lifelong friend Dennis Albrecht.

He is survived by his wife Mary (nee Murphy), daughter Margaret (Joseph Holt), son Michael (Nicki), step-grandchildren John Holt (Danika), Mary Holt (Christian Hernandez), Michael Holt (Tory), Rachel Holt. Brother Dennis Dallmann (Claudia), brother-in-law Thomas Murphy (Bette Jo), sisters-in-law Karen Murphy, Eileen Murphy, nieces Jenny Smadi (Tarif), Judy Murphy, Kathleen Shoo (Jeffrey) Amy Bigalow (Peter), Colleen Murphy, Carrie Koloff (Rick). Nephews Matthew Dallmann (Amy), Daniel Murphy (Christine), Colin Murphy, Casey Murphy and many cherished grandnieces and grandnephews. Lifelong friends Michael Johnson and Michael Tanner.

Big T. was a deeply beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, brother, and friend. His passing was sudden and unexpected but quick, just like he always hoped it would be.
