Suzanne M. Kern (nee Held) passed away on Monday, May 25, 2015 at The Kathy Hospice surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Hartford on June 3, 1953 to Richard and Margaret (nee Schulteis) Held. She attended St. Peter School and graduated from Slinger High School Class of '71. Sue married Donald Kern on December 22, 1990 at Holy Angels Parish in West Bend. She was a Respiratory Therapist for St. Joseph's Hospital in West Bend for 32 years and later worked as a 3K aide at St. Peter Catholic School. Sue played softball for many years and also enjoyed bowling and gardening. She loved spending time with her family and taking care of her grandsons.

She is survived by her husband Don; daughter Shelley (nee Howard) (Derrick) Disterhaft; grandchildren: Kaden and Mason Disterhaft; mother Margaret Held; brothers: Ronald Held, Rick (LaVonne) Held, and Jack (Regan) Held; father-in-law Richard Kern; siblings-in-law: Mary Jo (Eugene) Helnes, Randy Kern, William (Janice) Kern, Susan (Roger) Devenport, Joan (Doug) Savard and Daniel Kern. She is further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Sue is preceded in death by her father Richard Held, mother-in-law Barbara Kern, nephew Sean Held, other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 29, 2015 at 6:30PM at St. Peter Catholic Church (200 E Washington St., Slinger) with Fr. Richard Stoffel presiding. The visitation will be held at the church on Friday, May 29th from 2:30 PM until 6:15 PM. Inurnment will take place at new St. Peter Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Peter School (206 E Washington St, Slinger, WI 53086).
