Obituary

On Tuesday, November 11, 2025 Susan Jane Paulick (nee Wiechman), a mother, grandmother, friend and faithful follower of Christ, passed away at her home in West Bend, at the age of 78. She is finally at peace after years of battling many various health issues.

Susan was born on March 4, 1947 to Herman and Lorraine (nee Wedig) Wiechman. She met her husband, the late Larry Paulick in Oshkosh while attending college there to become a teacher. They married on June 24th, 1967, at Trinty Lutheran Church in Cedarburg, and were married for over 55 years. They were the true meaning of through sickness and in health.

Growing up, Susan helped on her parent's dairy farm and in their vast apple orchards, alongside her sister Sally & brother Glen. Her farm days instilled a great value for her faith and love of family. In 1972, Larry & Susan, built their ranch home of over 55 years in a then "new" neighborhood with a cornfield in their backyard and started a family.

All her life she took care of others, starting with her own children, which continued into her years of teaching and subbing, babysitting her grandchildren, being there for her children family and friends whenever needed, and she never left her husband's side through his years of medical issues. She was fiercely dedicated to her family.

She was involved in every part of her children's lives. She was a Girl Scout & Boy Scout leader, Sunday School & VBS coordinator, and taught classes for the Red Cross.

Most importantly, she cherished every minute she was able to spend with her grandchildren.  From reading endless books to them (often until her voice was hoarse), to creating crafts, baking cookies, playing games, and so much more. She & Larry never missed any of her grandchildren's events or concerts. From band & chorus concerts, church Christmas pageants & musicals, to T-ball, football and wrestling meets; her grandchildren knew they would always see them waving from the stands and cheering them on.

Anyone that met Susan quickly learned she had the most giving and unselfish heart. She was always helping, thinking of, and serving others. Susan lived a life of faith, and she was a true was a blessing to all. She will be deeply missed.

Susan is survived by her beloved children, Tracy (Tim) Hansen. Shelly (Tim) Schulteis and James Paulick. Grandchildren: AJ & Lucas Hall, Ella Hansen, Ethan & Violet Schulteis, Jayden, Jameson & Aziah Paulick, her beloved Siamese cat Dutchess and other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry; parents, Herman and Lorraine Wiechman; in-laws Arthur and Venita Paulick and brothers-in-law, Roger, Dennis and Jack Paulick.

A Funeral Service will be at 11:00AM on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at St Luke Lutheran Church (4860 Arthur Rd. Slinger, WI 53086) with Pastor Joshua Gyson presiding. Visitation will be at church prior on November 18 th from 10:00AM until 10:45AM. A luncheon will follow the service, and the Interment will be at 2:30PM at Washington County Memorial Park.

Susan (& Larry) were both recipients of many blood donations. If able, please consider donating blood on their behalf. What a gift it would be to save another's life in their honor.
