Steven Paul Mannes, age 68, passed away suddenly on July 30th, 2026. He was born on September 12th, 1957, to Paul and Joan (nee Aiello) Mannes.

Steve is survived by his wife Lorraine; (nee Hancock) of 48 years; children, Joseph (Teri), Michelle (Nathan), and Paul (Alicia), Grandchildren, Alaina and Lexi Mannes, Gianna and Sophia Reisweber, Vinny and Cecilia Mannes, and brothers Ted and Tom (Rachelle). He is further survived by other relatives and many, many, many friends and his loyal princess, Lola, the chihuahua.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents Paul and Joan, parents-in-law Myron and Ona, and in-laws Mike and Sherry Kunz, Dan Kunz and good friends Mike Dudkiewicz and Carl Jagow.

Steve grew up in Cedarburg Wisconsin and later graduated in 1975. He went on to college in Platteville, Wisconsin for a year, then Marquette University. After that he worked for his family business for almost 30 years. He later worked for Matenaer Corporation for over 20 years. Steve married his high school sweetheart, Lorraine in 1978 and they were inseparable ever since. He loved to go with her antiquing, to concerts, and up north to their cabin. He enjoyed doing all their yardwork together and was known in his town, for all the decor and lights to match the season or holiday. He and Lori would drink their coffee on the driveway every morning and wave or converse with anyone passing by.

Throughout his life, Steve was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved bowling on Tuesdays and golfing whenever he could. Above all, he treasured time spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren. One of Steve’s favorite things to do was go fishing with his son Joe every Thursday, and taking their white bass trip every year. Steve was also his grandchildren’s biggest fan. He enjoyed watching his granddaughters Sophia and Gianna play volleyball and watching granddaughter Lexi play softball. Steve would not miss a game for any reason. He loved to go to Colorado to see and spend time with his grandchildren Vinny and Cece. He spoiled his children and grandchildren every chance he got.

Steve touched the lives of so many people throughout his life. He was generous and would help anyone in need. He was known for his big laugh, funny jokes, his silly pranks, and kind heart. Those who knew him will forever carry his memory in their hearts and he will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

His wife and children would like to say a special thanks to Matenaer Corporation and the West Bend fire department for their efforts.

To honor Steve’s wishes no formal service will be held. There will be a celebration of life on Steve’s birthday, September 12th, 2026 at the Newburg Fireman's Park from 2:00-6:00. Anyone who wants to come celebrate Steve, is welcome.
