Steven R. Gauger, age 63, went into the arms of the lord, and met his son Clifford on Tuesday May 13, 2025 at Kathy Hospice.
Steve fought a courageous battle for three plus years with cancer. Steve was born June 16, 1961 to Harold and Dorothy (Schmidt) Gauger along with twin sister Sue. He was preceded in death by his son Clifford in 2003.
He is survived by brother Kenneth (Sharon) of Kewaskum, Keith (Sharon) of Reedsville, twin sister, Susan (Chris) Sellers of Minocqua, nieces Pamela McQuin (Mark) of Melbourne, Australia, Gretchen (Anthony) Engel of Chetek. Also survived by great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.
Steve graduated from West Bend High School. He was very handy with tools of any kind. He could overhaul engines of all kinds from small to large caterpillar engines. He started work in field maintenance for Krier preserving, then got into truck driving on farm milk pickup to semi tanker pickup of whey at cheese factories. His last years were at M.B.W Inc. in Slinger as a maintenance man and machinist.
A special thank you to Ben and Laura Odenwald of Hartford and Gary Fieweger of Kewaskum also thanks to Kelly Wagner of M.B.W. for helping Steve and being very good friends until the end. Also, thanks to Froedtert Hospital of West Bend and Doctor Colin Mooney for his treatment.
