Steve J Zacher Jr passed away Sunday, October 25, 2026, at the age of 89 years. He was born on July 19, 1937, in Strasburg, North Dakota, the son of Stephan and Barbara Jaeger Zacher. He married Isabell Wald on June 15, 1959, in Linton, North Dakota.

After their marriage they moved to Milwaukee in 1960 and later to West Bend in 1974.
He is survived by his children: Stephanie (David) Jung, Sherry (Tom) Vorpahl, Shelly (Jay) Schwoch and Sheryl Garbisch, 9 grandchildren: Jessica(Matt) Bottoni, Sara (Zach) Groeschel, Kyle Vorpahl, Tyler Vorpahl, Brent Vorpahl, Samatha (Ben) Crochet, great grandchildren: Adelaide Bottoni, Eleanor Bottoni, Henry Bottoni, Hunter Sabish, Brodee Roeschel, Tessa Groeschel, Maverick Crochet and Charlotte Crochet, Olivia Garbisch, Lauren Garbisch, Abraham Garbisch and Mildred Garbisch.

He served in the Korean war from 9-15-54 to 9-7-1956. Steve worked as a truck driver when they moved to WI. He then started at Bradley Corporation on 5-5-69 and retired on 8-1-1999 where he worked for 30 years. Steve was on the Honor Guard for many years with the American Legion Post 36.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, that passed away in 2019, his parents: brothers, Peter, Edward, Adam and Aloys Zacher and sisters, Catherine Malsam and Barbara Jangula.

A visitation for Steve will be from 10AM to 11AM on Friday, October 30, 2026, at Phillip Funeral Home (1420 W Paradise Dr, West Bend, WI 53095). Burial with Military Honors for family to follow at Washington County Memorial Park located at 3358 W Paradise Dr., West Bend, WI 53095.
