Stephen "Steve" Clayton Cannavo
Passed peacefully on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at the age of 70, after a short battle with cancer. He was born in Milwaukee, WI, the son of the late Clayton and Charity (nee Wiggins) Cannavo. As a boy, the family moved to West Bend, WI. Steve attended West Bend – West High School. He married the love of his life Cheryl "Cherry" Miller on November 15, 1980. He was a loyal and dedicated worker at Maysteel in Allenton for almost 40 years. Steve was an avid Brewer Fan and had great knowledge of many things, he was the "Phone A Friend" to many people. Most of all Steve loved his family and being with them.
Steve is lovingly survived by his wife Cheryl Cannavo of 43 years, children Stephen Clayton Jr., and Christopher (Annamarie) Cannavo; grandchildren Chloe, Grace and Ruth; siblings Marianne Cannavo, Linda Mertens, and Cameron Cannavo; sisters & brother-in-law Susan (the late John) Volkert, David (Colleen) Miller, and Lisa (Paul) Shanovich. He is further survived by his fur babies Micah and Amos, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, sister Laura Cannavo; brothers -in-law Randall, Michael, and Henry "Scott" Miller.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, from 1:00PM until 2:45PM, with a 3:00PM Memorial Service at the Phillip Funeral Home, 1420 W. Paradise Dr., West Bend. Burial will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Steve's name to the Milwaukee Rescue Mission, 830 N 19th St., Milwaukee, WI 53233.
