Obituary
Scott Gerald Lebakken, age 67, of West Bend, Wisconsin passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He fought a 2 and ½ year battle of various illnesses that began with cancer.
He was born on December 11, 1955, in Milwaukee, WI to Gerald and Lillian Lebakken. He was a 1974 graduate of Hartford High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Susan Fassbender and together they had 8 children, and 20 grandchildren. Scott was known for his sense of humor and quick wit; he enjoyed making people laugh. He had a big heart that he shared with many. Scott was an entrepreneur, owning a masonry company for his entire adult life. His many talents include decoy carving, taxidermy, and being musically inclined, he loved playing the guitar, playing the harmonica, and singing. Scott enjoyed spending time with his family, spending time in Fremont on Partridge Lake, duck hunting, fishing, deer hunting, trap shooting, and was an avid collector.
Scott is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Susan Mary (Fassbender) Lebakken, children Daniel Lebakken (Andrea), Sheila Stuettgen (Curt), Maria Gehring (JJ), Josh Lebakken (Nicole), Nick Lebakken (Cosima), Anna Guerndt (Kristopher), Alyssa Lebakken, Joseph Lebakken, grandchildren Vincent and Lucas Lebakken, Laini Sisk, Emma, Rebecca, Claire and Nathan Stuettgen, Landon, Brianna, Leah and Beau Gehring, Jeffrey Logan III and Savanna Lebakken, Emilie, Lillie and Henry Lebakken, Elijah, Barrett and Zoe Guerndt, Sebastian LaMarche, mother Lillian Lebakken, brother Richard (Mari) Lebakken, sister Luanne Burg (Bruce), and many beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins..
Scott is preceded in death by his father Gerard Lebakken and brother Jeffrey Lebakken.
A Visitation for Scott will be on Sunday, August 27, 2023 at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W Paradise Dr. West Bend, WI 53095) from 1:00PM until 3:45PM. A Vigil Service will follow at 4:00PM. Mass of Chirstian Burial will be at 11:30AM on Monday, August 28, 2023 at Holy Angels (138 N. 8 th Ave. West Bend, WI 53095) with Fr. Howard Haase presiding. Interment to follow Mass at Holy Angels Catholic Cemetery.
Scott's family would like to express a heartfelt thank you for all who came to visit in the hospital, for all his caregivers throughout his journey and for all the prayers and well wishes.
