Scott Wade Johnson, age 54, of West Bend, tragically passed away as a result of a mountain biking accident on Sunday, November 30, 2014, while vacationing with his loving wife, Kelly, in Hilton Head SC. He was born March 2, 1960, in Waukesha to Wayne and Mary (nee Marshall) Johnson.

Scott is survived by his wife Kelly (nee Werth); children Dana, Derek and Devin (Tracy); grandchildren Brady, Norah and Abbie; father Wayne (Carol); and many friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Lou Marshall, step-father Fred Huebner, grandfather Bob Marshall, grandmother Eva Marshall, grandmother Margaret Johnson and grandfather Clark Johnson.

Scott was a man of integrity, a loving husband, father and grandpa. He had an unstoppable energy, and was known for his unique, infectious laugh and broad sincere smile.

Scott was a third-generation co-owner of Johnson's Nursery. His hard work and outstanding business ethics were truly something to be admired. To many, it was this deep commitment to the green industry that served as one of his defining characteristics. During his time at Johnson's Nursery, Scott held the following board positions: 2000 Board of Directors, WNA (Wisconsin Nursery Association--now WNLA), 2010-2012 President, WNLA (Wisconsin Nursery & Landscape Association--formerly WNA), 2007 Board of Directors, WGIF (Wisconsin Green Industry Federation), 2007 – 2011 MATC Landscape Horticulture Advisory Committee, 2011-2012 Secretary, WGIF and 2013-early 2014 Vice-President, WGIF.

Scott lived his life to the fullest and loved traveling, skiing, road/mountain biking and nature. Scott had a curiosity not seen in many people and we are all blessed to have had him in our lives.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, December 8, 2014 at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W. Paradise Dr.), West Bend at 6pm. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 3pm until the time of service.
