Sandra Lee Slagle (nee Doak) age 90 passed away on Saturday December 2 2023 at the Horizon Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon after battling Alzheimers for years. She was born on November 10, 1933 in Columbus Ohio to Selman and Lucille ( nee Thompson).

Sandra will be remembered for being intelligent, friendly, creative and giving of herself to others. She grew up in Evanston, IL, Providence, RI, and Ohio, where she graduated Miami University-Ohio. She was proud to be a Gamma Phi Beta and AAUW member. She enjoyed extensive volunteering through the American Red Cross, First Congregational UCC Church in Eagle River, respite care for people with dementia, Hospital Auxiliary, Auxiliary thrift store, the Library and many more. She enjoyed watercolor and oil painting, winning numerous awards for her nature scenes, along with sewing, quilting, knitting and crafts. She was proud to have joined her friends in starting the Eagle River Women's Investment Club. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and friend to many. Her always positive attitude and outlook on life, her always helping and thinking of others first, her creativity, and her sense of humor will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Sandra is survived by her 3 children, Michael (Claire) of West Bend, WI, Stacey (John Murray) of Mequon, WI, Steven (Ann Ward) of Auburn, WA;  4 grandchildren, Collin, Miles and Garrett Murray, and Samantha Slagle; and sister Susie Puffer of NC. She is further survived by other relatives and many, many true friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Richard Slagle, and her parents.

To honor Sandra's wishes, there will be a private celebration of life with her immediate family.
