Ruth I. Yanke (nee Dahlinger) passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at the age of 91 years.
Ruth was born on September 18, 1922 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Alex and Pauline (nee Koch) Dahlinger. She married Walter "Wally" Yanke on April 18, 1942 in Milwaukee. They were proudly married for 70 years before he preceded her in death on October 21, 2012.
Ruth enjoyed embroidering and baking. Her family always looked forward to her arrival with excellent desserts in hand!
Ruth was incredibly devoted to her family. She took care of Wally throughout his illness, and she cherished every moment she could with him. She loved to see her family tree blossom, and enjoyed all the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ruth is survived by her son Jeffrey (Bonnie) of Cedarburg; grandchildren Jason (Colleen) of Gleason, WI, Jeremy (special friend Jen) of Neenah, Joshua of Adell, and Justin (Melissa) of Port Washington; and great-grandchildren Jon and Jordan Yanke, Nolan Podlipsky, Jillian Yanke, Ella Yanke, and Nora Yanke. She is further survived by her sister-in-law Lorna Forbes, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
Ruth is preceded in death by her husband Wally, parents Alex and Pauline Dahlinger, in-laws Ernst and Alma Yanke, brother Fred Dahlinger, 4 brothers-in-law, and 2 sisters-in-law.
A Funeral Service for Ruth will be at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel, 1420 W. Paradise Dr. in West Bend. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4:00 PM until 5:45 PM on Tuesday, October 8, 2013. Memorials are appreciated to the American Heart Association (7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75231).
