Ruth Marie Severance (née Koller), age 92, of West Bend, Wisconsin, passed away on November 22, 2025. She was born on May 12, 1933, in West Bend to the late Cecilia and Jacob Koller.
Ruth was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy in life was her family. She had a remarkable talent for capturing life’s moments—taking hundreds of photos and turning them into treasured photo books for her loved ones. She loved gardening, planning family events, and creating cherished traditions that kept her family close. Ruth also enjoyed visiting garage sales, always seeking out simple treasures that brought her joy. She lived by the belief that family always comes first, and she instilled that value in everyone around her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her former husband, John Severance; her granddaughter Anna; and her grandson Geofrey. Ruth is survived by her five children: - Ted Severance - Lori Brodzeller (Bob) - Lynn Kissinger (Steven) - Rodney Severance - Lisa Goehring (Jay) She is also survived by her six grandchildren: - Jamie Severance (Sarah) - Jennifer Wuensch (Tony) - Justin Kissinger (Sami) - Sarah Abfall (Mac) - Amanda Goehring (Jack) - Halle Knaack (Eli) Along with nine great-grandchildren, all of whom she deeply loved.
A private service will be held for immediate family. Memorial donations may be made to: Shalom Wildlife Sanctuary 1991 Shalom Drive West Bend, WI Shalom Wildlife Sanctuary was a special place for Ruth, where she enjoyed many visits with her family—especially the peaceful sleigh rides through the winter landscape.
Ruth will be remembered for her warmth, creativity, love of simple joys, and the devotion she gave to her family. Her legacy lives on through the memories she created and the traditions she cherished.
