Ruth E. Knoebl (née Kornatz)
, age 94, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Cornerstone Assisted Living in West Bend. She was born in Leegebruch, Germany, on October 28, 1930.
Ruth lived a full and vibrant life. She often shared vivid stories of her life in Germany during World War II, recalling what a frightening and uncertain time it was. In 1954, Ruth courageously moved to the United States with her daughter, beginning a new chapter filled with hope and opportunity.
She spent most of her career at
Briggs & Stratton
, where she worked hard, built lifelong friendships, and met the love of her life,
Joseph Knoebl
. Together, Ruth and Joe shared many adventures and happy years, especially during their time living in Florida, where Ruth cherished being near the Gulf of Mexico and soaking up the sunshine.
Ruth loved traveling with friends and family, visiting many countries over the years. Known for her warm hospitality, she delighted in entertaining guests and was famous for her delicious cooking and baking. She also had a lifelong passion for health and wellness—often sharing nutrition and exercise advice with those she loved (whether they asked for it or not!).
Her grandchildren have fond memories of visiting Grandma and Joe's home in Slinger, especially summer days spent swimming in their backyard pool and enjoying Ruth's home-cooked meals. Those moments remain some of the family's most treasured memories.
Ruth is survived by her grandchildren Brian (Traci), Jeff (Abbey), and Cari (Sophos); and her great-grandchildren Sawyer (Adrian), Sydney, Grace, Ella, and Sam. The great-grandkids have fond memories of their beloved Oma. She is further survived by other relatives and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Knoebl; and her daughter, Marleen Baumann.
