Steiner, Russell E., passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 27, 2014, at the age of 56. Russ will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Survived by his beloved wife Cindy Steiner. Children Patrick (Sarah) Cressey, Heather (Todd) Bushkie (Cressey), Russell (RJ) Steiner Jr., and Cody Steiner. Cherished son of Carol Steiner of Minocqua, WI. Proud grandfather of five beautiful granddaughters, Grace Butters, Olivia and Kaili Cressey, Addie and Bella Bushkie and one more Bushkie baby on the way. Brother of Richard (Gayle) Steiner, Cheryl (Terry) Nelson, Randall (Jayne) Steiner, Catherine (William) Holzbach, Raymond (Karen) Steiner. Also loved by nieces, nephews, relatives, many dear friends as well as the family dog, Zelda.
He was born on January 16, 1958 in West Bend, WI. Predeceased by his father Robert John Steiner, grandparents Elroy and Catherine Steiner, biological grandfather, Edward S. Suchy, grandparents Donald and Clara Theisen, step-father Allen Rakow, and niece Haddie Layne Steiner.
Russ graduated from West Bend East in 1976. He worked with his father at Steiner TV and Appliance and became the owner in 1984. More recently, he was a dedicated entrepreneur and business owner of Steiner Appliance Distributor. Through his hard work and the help of his wife and sons, Patrick and Cody, he built up the company to what it is today.
He was an avid Indy racing fan and former Formula Ford driver. He passed his love for car racing onto his children and was a racing coach to his two sons RJ and Cody when they were younger. Russ enjoyed time spent in the north woods of Minocqua, fishing and relaxing with his family. He liked trapshooting with friends and hunting in the fall. His love for the outdoors was also evident in time spent on his property, snowshoeing, watching wildlife, and playing catch outside with the family dog, Zelda.
A memorial celebration of Russ' life will be held at Phillip Funeral Home in West Bend (1420 W Paradise Drive) on Friday, August 1, 2014 at 6:00 PM. The visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, August 1st from 2:00 PM until 5:45 PM. Donations to the family would be greatly appreciated.
