Ruby Cauley (nee Bednar) passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at the age of 85 years. She was born on December 18, 1928 in Milwaukee, WI.
Ruby was a devoted wife, mother, step-mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was a long standing member of Kettle Moraine Bible Church and Menomonee Falls Bible Church.
Ruby is survived by her husband Joe; children Stan Szaniawski (Mary), Ray (Nina) Shannon, Chuck (Julie) Szaniawski, and Lori Meyer; step-children Marie (Kurt) Nelson, Joe Cauley, Jr., and Colleen Cauley (Tom); grandchildren Mykl (Sue), Jim, Stacie, Nichole, Natalie (Rashad), Heather (Chad), Selina, and Rory; step-grandchildren Tami (Scott), Lisa (Steve), and Niki (Dom); great-grandchildren Damien, Brandon, Adonai, Habiah, Trinitee, and Elijah; step-great-grandchildren Kodie (Josh), Adam (Sara), Alexis, Hunter, Alain, and Lucien; and step-great-great-grandson Kohl. She is further survived by her siblings Ted (Harriet), Ethel, Walt (Rose), and Ray (Joan); siblings-in-law June, Mary Jean, Margaret, and Mike. Ruby was also extremely fond of her niece Carol (Pete) and numerous other nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.
Ruby is preceded in death by her late husband Stanley Szaniawski, parents Theodore and Rachel Bednar, brothers Charlie (Violet) and Don; and brother-in-law Ken (Evelyn "Bubs").
Ruby was a talented artist whose projects included Renaissance oil paintings, wild life oil paintings, colored pencil drawings, rose-malling, copper tooling, decoupaging, cake decorating, and distinctive art of the Old West. Many of her finished products are proudly displayed on the walls of family and friends.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Friday, January 31, 2014 at the Phillip Funeral Home, 1420 W. Paradise Dr. in West Bend. Funeral Service will immediately follow thereafter at 6:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Kevin Sadler presiding. Refreshments will follow the funeral service. Private interment will take place at Washington County Memorial Park.
Memorials are appreciated to the Cottages at Cedar Run which will go towards the new dementia ward of Cedar Community (c/o Cedar Community Foundation, 113 Cedar Ridge Dr., West Bend, WI 53095).
