Rosina M. Ehlert, 91, of West Bend WI, passed away peacefully at The Cottages of
Cedar Community Care Center on May 31, 2024.
Rosina was the last of 6 children born to Martin and Rose (Hellman) Diers on
December 10, 1932 in Bakerville, WI. She grew up on the family farm in Bakerville,
and graduated from Marshfield High School. After graduation, Rosina worked at
Berg Farm Implement in Marshfield, WI where she met the love of her life, Clyde
Ehlert. They were married for 67 years.
She is survived by their 8 children; Mary Ellen (Joe) Winston, LaVern (Mary Jo)
Ehlert, Barbara Schoen, Caryl (Karl Anderson) Ehlert, Patrick (Beth) Ehlert, Brian
(Karen) Ehlert, Randy (Debbie) Ehlert, and Yvonne (Pete) Zielinski as well as their
12 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 10 step great
grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, sisters Isabelle Kroeing,
Sally Gaffney, Helen Hofmann, Marie Bohman, a brother Willie, and grandson
Joseph Hamski.
Rosina and her husband traveled across our country with the family and later on
their own during retirement. She was proud that she had visited 49 states, having
missed only Hawaii. She was an avid quilter. Not only did she gift all of her
children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren with a quilt; she sewed baby quilts
for her church and made over 137 quilts for Stratford, WI VFW post 6352
Auxiliary's "Comfort Quilt" project. These quilts were given to veterans to honor
their service to our country, something that was important to both Rosina and her
veteran husband. As much as these activities were important to her, the thing she
enjoyed most was spending time with her family.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Cottages of Cedar Community as
well as the staff of Common Heart Hospice for their compassionate care and
support.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Walk to End
Alzheimer's of Washington County, or to Family Promise of Washington County.
Mass of Christian burial will be at St Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in West Bend
on June 29, 2024 at 11:00 am preceded by visitation from 10:00 am-10:45 am. Burial will follow
for immediate family at Valhalla Memorial Park in Milwaukee.
