Roman J. Schneider, age 90, passed away on September 30, 2013 at Ivy Manor in West Bend. He was born on November 17, 1922 in the Town of Polk to Christian and Regina (nee Wiedmeyer) Schneider. He attended grade school in Hubertus and Holy Angels of West Bend. He married Evelyn Krejci on January 19, 1946 at Holy Trinity Church in Newburg, WI. He married his second wife, Marcella Schroeder on April 25, 1987 in Grafton. He was employed for a short time at West Bend Company and ran the family farm. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Father Caspar Rehrl Council, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1398 in West Bend, and St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. He enjoyed a good game of cards (Sheepshead), dancing, and bowling. He was a devoted husband and father, and loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Lucille (Ira) Hartmann of Phillips, Eugene (Karleen) Schneider of Random Lake, Jerry (Diane) Schneider of Kewaskum, Bev (Roger) Spaeth of West Bend, Kathy Griepentrog of West Bend, Donald (Karen) Schneider of Adell, Sue (Don) Fischer of Antigo, Carolyn (Bruce) Weninger of Kewaskum, Vince (Lori) Schneider of West Bend, Ralph Schneider of West Bend; step-children, Jerry (Susie) Schroeder of Grafton, Tom Schroeder of Pipe, and Kathy (Jim) Fick of West Bend; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister, Marcella Karnitz of West Bend. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Evelyn; second wife, Marcella; siblings Hilbert, Phillip, Norbert, Christian Jr., Rita Schultz, and Lydia Heimerl; in-laws, Virginia (Phillip) Schneider, Willard (Rita) Schultz, Darrell Karnitz, Sylvester (Lydia) Heimerl, and Ralph (Mickey) Krejci.

The visitation will be on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W Paradise Drive, West Bend) from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM with a Prayer Vigil at 7:00 PM. The visitation will continue on Thursday, October 3, 2013 from 9:30 – 10:45 AM at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church (1025 S 7th Ave, West Bend, WI 53095) with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at (new) St. Mary's Cemetery in Barton.
