Obituary
Robert "Bob" J. Werner passed away peacefully on Friday, June 28, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born January 28th, 1936 to Henry and Alvina (nee Hausfeldt) Werner in West Bend, WI. Bob grew up on his family farm where he was dedicated to working the land and taking care of many animals. His school years were cut short by the need to help on the farm, and he quickly became known in the area as a jack-of-all-trades. He was often called upon to help with handyman work around the Cedar Lake area. This ability to fix items led him to meet the woman he would spend the rest of his life with. On the 15th of November,1969 he married the love of his life, Janet Meyer. They soon built a home on his family land and have resided there ever since. He spent many days working on cabinets at Mallard Coach, building pallets at Rose Products and finishing his working days at the Town of West Bend plowing snow, cutting grass and doing road maintenance. Bob enjoyed fishing and hunting with many weekends away with the guys. He could often be found outside chopping wood and cutting the grass. His pride and joy were his 4 children, 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years, Janet Werner; four children, John (Melanie) Werner, Jeffrey (Michelle) Werner, David (Julie) Werner and Jacquelyn Drover; grandchildren and great- grandchildren, sister Ludella (the late Frank) Walsh, nieces and so many other friends and family members.
He is preceded in death by his son-in-law, Timothy Drover, and his parents, Henry and Alvina Werner.
Bob's family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, July 6th from 9:30AM-11:45AM, with the Funeral Service at 12:00PM, at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, 809 S. 6th Avenue, West Bend WI. A burial will take place later at 2:30PM at Washington County Memorial Park, 3358 Paradise Drive, West Bend, following the church luncheon. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bob's name to the Leukemia Society would be appreciated.
The family would like to thank all those who supported them during this difficult time with a special thanks to the many caregivers who gave so generously of their time and talents, especially Dr. Gary Herdrich, Dr. Colin Mooney and Pastor David Nieman.
