Obituary

Robert John "Bob" Lynch, of West Bend, entered eternal life on October 16th, 2014. He passed away peacefully in his home. Born in the Town of Erin on May 2nd, 1924, to Charles and Lilly (Powell) Lynch. Preceded in death by his loving wife of nearly sixty years, Helen Marie (Moriarty) Lynch.
Bob attended Mountin School, a one-room school house, then Hartford High School where he played baseball and was on the boxing team; class of 1942. Like millions of other members of the "Greatest Generation," Bob went immediately into the US Army to fight for freedom in World War II. He fought as a combat soldier in Italy in the Battle of Mt. Battaglia, the Battle of Monte Cassino, and many others. He was awarded the Bronze Star for combat heroism, and a Purple Heart for injuries sustained in battle. Bob was a patriot! After returning from war, Bob started a long career at the Wisconsin Telephone Co. and, with Helen, devoted his life to his family and to God. Bob loved golfing, fishing, and handyman projects (usually figuring a way to use duct tape and WD40!) Bob was a GREAT socializer and jokester, right up to the night before his death. To know him, was to love him!
Cherished father of Mary Pat (David) Roth -West Bend, Mike - Brown Deer, Katie (Mike) Kranjac - Oak Creek, Jeannie (Wess) Kry - Burlington, Dennis (Lynn) - Plymouth, MN, and Jimmy (Karen) - Whitefish Bay.
