Robert "Bob" Broman passed away in West Bend, Wisconsin, on Friday, 28 June, 2024, after a long decline due to dementia at the age of 84.
Robert was born October 19, 1939, the son of Elmer and Marcie Broman, and grew up in Aitkin, Minnesota. He attended Carleton College and received a PhD in chemistry from Northwestern University. He was a chemistry professor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and then worked as a sales manager for a number of companies, including ISCO and Waters which allowed him to travel the world.
In retirement, he was an active volunteer at the Lac Lawrann Conservancy in West Bend, Wisconsin, with the Mobile Skills Crew of the Ice Age Trail Alliance, assisted with various functions at Unitarian Church North-Mequon, and as a tax preparer. He also enjoyed wine making, for which he grew Frontenac grapes, bottled, and aged his own signature wine. He was known for his honesty, incredible organizational skills, and his passion for nature preservation and knowledge.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carol, his children Elizabeth (Martin) Appel, Erika Broman, Andrew (Giso) Broman, Karl (Aimee Teo) Broman, his siblings Ken, Charles, and Vicki, and 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at 11:00AM, at Prairie Home Cemetery, 605 S. Prairie Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186.
