Robert A. Boettcher, age 83, of West Bend, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2014, at The Kathy Hospice in West Bend. He was born in Milwaukee on August 12, 1931, to Rolen and Marie (nee Eicksteadt) Boettcher. Robert was united in marriage to Bernice E. Ullrich on June 26, 1954, at St. John's Lutheran Church in West Bend.
Robert was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. He worked at the West Bend Co. prior to serving his country during the Korean War in the United States Army and after his return. Robert also worked at the West Bend Post Office until his retirement at age 55. He also worked for the Ziegler family as a groundskeeper and also at 7Up Bottling Co. loading trucks at night. Robert was a member of the Korean War Veterans Association. He belonged to the Campbellsport Snow Cougars snowmobile club with Bernice. Robert will be fondly remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend.
Robert is survived by his children Dawn (Jerry) Wilson of Fox Lake, Diane (Harold) Felberg of Hudson, Debra (Ronald) Baumhardt of Campbellsport and David (Yvonne) Boettcher of Kewaskum; grandchildren Angela (Randy) Raymond, Andrew (Andrea) Felberg, Amy Felberg, Ann Felberg, Jennifer Juech, Jonathan Juech, Brianna Baumhardt, Brandon Baumhardt, Timothy Boettcher and Michael Boettcher; great-grandchildren Ashley, Christopher, Shawn, Nicholas, Megan, Nathan, Ayden and Leila; sister Helen Yohann of Muskego; brother Howard Boettcher; sister-in-law Nancy Ullrich of Cherry Valley; brother-in-law Leroy Hoepner of West Bend; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents and in-laws; beloved wife of 60 years, Bernice; brother Ralph (Shirley) Boettcher; brothers-in-law Richard (Audrey) Ullrich, Bernard Ullrich, Claude (Diane) Ullrich and Harold Feuerhammer; sisters-in-law Iona (Harold) Ebert and Marcella Hoepner; and granddaughter Sarah Boettcher.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W. Paradise Dr., West Bend) on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at 1pm. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home from 11am until the time of the service. Entombment will follow at Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend, will full military honors. Memorials to the Sarah Boettcher Scholarship Foundation appreciated.
