Rita A. Kenner (nee Sauer), of Marshfield, WI, formerly of West Bend, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2026, with her son Randy, by her side.

Rita was born on March 28, 1952, in West Bend, WI to Peter and Audrey (Nelson) Sauer. She graduated from West Bend High School in 1970. Rita received her bachelor’s degree from Stevens Point and was passionate about her career in the field of Histology and working with the Electron Microscope.

Rita loved to travel and enjoyed camping and spending time outdoors. She also has a passion for photography, Stephen King books & movies, and cherished spending time with her family and friends.

Rita is survived by her son, Randy Kenner of Marshfield, WI; her sister Linda Schnabel of West Bend, WI; her brothers, Richard (Sheila) Sauer of West Bend, WI., and John (Karen) Sauer of Dousman, WI; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rita is preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Audrey Sauer; sisters, Ruth Sauer and Eileen Schroeder; brother-in-law, Art Schroeder; her grandparents Oscar and Marie Nelson; and her great-nephew Armani, and Randal Kenner.

The family would like to thank the staff at House of the Dove Hospice and Rita’s friend Linda Mertens for the loving care and support they provided to Rita. The Family would also like to recognize Randy for his dedication as her caregiver and being by his mother’s side throughout her illness.

Rita had a special love for the outdoors and enjoyed spending time in Wisconsin’s beautiful parks. In keeping with that love of nature, family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate her life on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the White Family Cabin in Ridge Run Park West, 2600 Wheat Ridge Lane, West Bend, WI 53095.

Please join us as we come together in a peaceful setting to remember Rita, share stories and memories, and celebrate a life that meant so much to so many. A light luncheon will be served.
