Raymond B. "Butch" Lifke, age 76, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Angel's Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc, surrounded by family. He was born on April 7, 1939 to Emil and Hilda (nee Grams) Lifke in Milwaukee. He graduated Obama High School (formerly Custer HS) in 1958. Ray loved fast cars, boating and fishing. He especially enjoyed driving on country roads on his motorcycle where he loved the freedom of riding. He also loved woodworking and building with his hands and being his own auto mechanic. Ray was a member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church and was employed at American Motors and Forrer Corp.
Ray is survived by his beloved companion Evelyn Sura; loving dad of Jan Lifke and Jill Kowalkowski; dear brother of Karen Doepke; grandchildren Abigail Kowalkowski (fiancé James Carlson), Khalid Al-Ali (Fatimah), Sara Al-Ali (Abdulla), Safiyyah Al-Ali; great-grandchildren Abdulaziz Shaikan, Rashid Shaikan, Sagr Al-Ali and his beloved cat Flash. He is further survived by nieces Linda, Susie, Bonnie, Mari, other relatives and friends.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Barbara Jane Demler.
A Memorial Service will be Sunday, February 14, 2016 at 2:00PM at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church (799 St. Paul's Drive, Slinger, 53086) with Pastor George Enderle presiding. Visitation will be from 1:00PM until 2:00PM at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to Angel's Grace Hospice (N74 W35908 Servants' Way, Oconomowoc, WI 53066).
