Obituary

Phyllis Joy "Bing" McEwen (nee Hoch), at the age of 86 passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2013 peacefully with her loving husband by her side holding her hand. She was born to the late David and Twila (nee Eshbaugh) Hoch on March 1, 1927 in Pennsylvania and she graduated from Leechburg High School. Phyllis was employed at Amity for over 30 years, retiring in 1989. In her spare time, she was an avid outdoorswoman. Phyllis loved to hunt and fish. Her greatest joy in life was loving up all the family babies.

Phyllis is survived by her husband and best friend, Sanford "Skip" McEwen; loving daughters, Linda (Lloyd "Whitey") Uelmen and Gloria (George Christnovich) McEwen; adored grandchildren Sheri (Andy) Kasten, David (Jann) Uelmen, and Lisa (Randy) Geib. Phyllis's pride and joy were her great- grandchildren, Amanda and Ashleigh Kasten, Shane (Tricia) Schutz, Kyle (Terri Wirth) Schutz, Madison Uelmen, Lucy, Cooper, and Clayton Geib; precious great-great-grandchildren, Kellen, Beckett, and Decker Schutz; special niece, Lori (Scott) Stonecipher and their children, Erin and Erik; siblings Marilyn Bowser, Donna Winningham, Carolyn Quillen, Robert (Peg) Hoch, and Sharon Mckee and her sister-in-law Mildred Hoch. She is further survived by Skip's family, Mikki Henry, May (Richard) Hecker, Murray McEwen and Kathy McEwen; many treasured nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her two beloved sons, David "Buzz" and Ricky; brothers, Theodore and Junior; brothers-in-law, Bert Bowser, Jim Quillen and Bob Winningham; in-laws, Elmer (Ginny) McEwen, Ruth (Vernon) Graff, Martha (Don) Knappenberger, Fred McEwen, Margaret McEwen and Ron Henry.

A Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at the Phillip Funeral Home (1420 W. Paradise Drive, West Bend, WI) at 1:00 PM. A visitation will be at the funeral home from 11:00 AM to the time of service at 1:00 PM. Interment will take place at Washington County Memorial Park following the service.
