Pamela "Pam" Purdy passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at the age of 86 years.
Pam was born on September 21, 1927 in Peterborough, England to John and Sarah (nee Longland) Griffin. She married Dee Bryn Purdy on December 12, 1945 in England at the close of WWII.
Pam and Dee were foster parents to 25 children over a 25 year period of time. These children varied in age from 1 ½ years to older teens.
Pam loved to garden and was a member of West Bend Beautification Committee for many years. She loved to oil paint and knit, giving away many doll outfits and scarves to loved ones. She was a member of Kettle Moraine Bible Church where she was a teacher, and a VBS organizer. She was a child evangelism teacher in her home, and bible studies in her home for many years.
Pam is survived by her children Mark of Racine and Ross of Iron Ridge; daughter-in-law Colleen of Racine; seven grandchildren Tanya, Bryn Scott, Jr. (LuAnn), Daniel (LaTasha), Cristin, Justin, Luke, and Tryphena; and four great-grandchildren Colton, Brittany, Micah, and Ian. Pam is further survived by her sister Kathleen Foster of England; sisters-in-law Stella Griffin of British Columbia, Canada, Brenda Griffin of England, and Robert (Margaret) Griffin of England; step-mother Winifred Griffin of England; sister-in-law Sandra Griffin of England; two foster children Stacey (Joe) Gremminger of Horicon and Denise (Tim) Folger; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.
Pam is preceded in death by her husband Dee, son Bryn, daughter-in-law Kathy, parents John and Sarah, and brothers John, Patrick, and Peter Griffin, step-brother Christopher.
A Funeral Service for Pam will be at 5:00 PM on Friday, October 25, 2013 at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel, 1420 W. Paradise Dr. in West Bend with Pastor Kevin Sadler presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 3:00 PM until 4:45 PM on Friday. Interment will take place at 9:00 AM on Monday, October 28, 2013 at Washington County Memorial Park.
