Norman C. Gruber, age 84, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2015. He was born on March 2, 1931 in Knowles, WI to Leo and Emma (nee Haller) Gruber. He graduated from Mayville High School Class of '49. He married Shirley (nee Giese) on January 5, 1957 at St. Andrews Parish in LeRoy, WI. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Norman was employed at Gehl Company as a Tool & Die Maker from 1954 – 1996. He enjoyed working in the wood working shop at Cedar Community making custom wooden pen and pencil sets.
Norman is survived by his loving wife, Shirley; children: Mark (Rose Oberle), Kaye, Craig (Denise), and Michael (Michelle); grandchildren: Kevin, Matthew (Stephanie) and Andrew (Katie) Gruber, Jeffery (Lisa) and Gregory Emmer, Jacqueline, Samantha (fiancé Vince Morales) and Alex Gruber; great-grandchildren: Devin, Maustin, Madden and Kendal Gruber; sisters: Anita Clark and Jane Gruber; brother-in-law Ralph (Faye) Giese; sisters-in-law: Verona Hartwig, Margaret Schultz, Marian Giese, Dorthy Krueger, Janet (Ronald) Coulter and Bonnie Okon. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law Elmer and Adela Giese; and great-granddaughter Madison Gruber.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 12:00 PM at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church (1025 S 7th Ave, West Bend) with Fr. Enrique Hernandez presiding. The Visitation will be held on Friday, May 8, 2015 at the church from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Saturday, May 9th from 10:00 AM until 11:45AM. Entombment will take place on Monday, May 11th at 11:00 AM at Ledgeview Cemetery in Fond du Lac.
