Obituary

With great sadness we announce that Nancy Sarrasin Yach, 73, of West Bend, passed away on June 30, 2025 at her home in West Bend.

Born on December 18, 1951 in Woonsocket, Rhode Island to Robert and Constance (nee LeMay) Sarrasin, Nancy was the oldest of five children. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandma, and friend. She touched the lives of many with her profound warmth, generosity, sense of humor, creativity, and outgoing nature. Nancy possessed an uncanny ability to connect with just about anyone—which often led to making new friends in the store checkout line. She had the rare gift of building community wherever she found herself.

After graduating from Pius XI High School in 1970, Nancy went on to nursing school in Milwaukee. As an RN, she dedicated her work life to nursing in many different places around southeast Wisconsin. While she enjoyed her work, her real pride and joy was her family.

In 1984, Nancy married her high school sweetheart, David. Together, they had three children, Lindsay, Kelly, and Davis and went on to create a full and happy life in West Bend. She imparted her kindness, humor, and love of reading to her kids. She was an endless well of support for them, cheering them on at their various events, traveling to visit when they lived far away, and sharing wisdom and comfort in many a phone call. She thought the world of her children's spouses, and they loved her in return.

Nancy retired from nursing in 2019 and spent her retirement doing what she enjoyed—tending to her plants, reading eighty books a year, going to musicals and Chicago concerts, watching movies, and spending time with her family. She doted on her cats, Frankie and Ziggy, who found comfort sleeping by her side. Nancy especially loved caring for her granddaughter, Stella, the light of her life.

Nancy is survived and missed by her husband, David Yach, her three children, Lindsay (Zach) Kacey, Kelly (Eric) Schulz, Davis (Maddie) Yach, and her granddaughter, Stella Schulz. She is further survived by her father, Robert Sarrasin, her four siblings, and many nieces, nephews, family, and friends who loved her dearly.

A celebration of Nancy's life will be held on Thursday, July 10th at Phillip Funeral Home (1420 W Paradise Dr, West Bend, WI 53095). Visitation will be from 9:00-10:45 AM with a memorial service starting at 11:00 AM. Luncheon to follow, with private burial at Holy Angels Cemetery in West Bend. Nancy loved to laugh, so please bring your fun stories of her and wear bright colors in her honor. In Nancy's memory, donations can be made to the Washington County Humane Society, which was close to her heart.

"You made me so very happy, I'm so glad you came into my life."
