Nancy Ethel Swartzendruber (nee Bender), 78, born May 24, 1945 in Iowa City, IA, and loving wife of James Allen Swartzendruber, passed away on June 24, 2023, at her home in West Bend, WI.

Nancy lived for her family, finding joy in spending time with her grandchildren and hosting holiday gatherings. She loved gardening, scrapbooking, reading, and walking in nature. Nancy worked as a teacher throughout her career and retired in 2007 after 14 years as a preschool assistant with the Slinger School District. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Jim; Son Benjamin (m. Mollie Bass), Evanston, IL; Daughter Jennifer Davenport (m. Scott Davenport), Stillwater, MN; Daughter Sara Kojis (m. Benjamin Kojis), Madison, WI; Brother Richard, Kalona, IA; and Sister Ruth Anne (m. Michael Bankston), Lilburn, GA. Nancy is further survived by her grandchildren: Jonah, Nora, Adam, Clara, Maxwell, and Isabel. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Lois.

A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, June 29 at Phillip Funeral Home in West Bend, WI. Visitation from 12:00 pm to 12:45 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to the Parkinson's Foundation in Nancy's memory.
