Obituary

Nancy (Christiansen) Loos passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, at the age of 87. She was the daughter of the late Arnold G. Christiansen and Clare Christiansen, and step-daughter of Evelyn Christiansen.

Nancy is survived by her children, Claire (Michael) Slagle, Michael (fiancée Beth Weirick) Loos, Stephen (MJ) Loos, and Richard (Siana) Loos; grandchildren Laura Loos, Sondra Loos, Noelle (Tank Johnson) Loos, Maxwell (Claire) Loos, Nathan Loos, Eric (Courtney) Pagels, Eric Essinger, and Michael Brem; and great-grandchildren Adrian Anderson, Camden, Kaiahna, and Koi Loos-Johnson, Morgan Loos, Henry Pagels, Delia, Gabriel, Ezekiel and Ephraim Essinger, and Alexander and Jackson Brem. She is also survived by many other treasured family members and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Arthur E. Loos (1957–2007) and Robert J. Bohn (2013–2015), along with other beloved family members.

Nancy grew up in the Chicago area and cherished many fond memories of attending baseball games with her father. A lifelong sports enthusiast, she was also a devoted Green Bay Packers fan, and she delighted in playing fantasy football for many years.

Nancy possessed a creative spirit and a deep appreciation for the arts. She enjoyed drawing, painting, and a wide variety of arts and crafts. Museums were among her favorite destinations, especially the Museum of Wisconsin Art. She also loved the theatre - both as a patron and as a performer in local community theatre. Those who knew Nancy well would agree she always carried a touch of theatrical flair.

Nancy found great happiness outdoors and loved the beauty of water, nature, and the quiet rhythms of the natural world. One of her most cherished traditions was her annual visit to Boulder Junction, a beloved family retreat first enjoyed by her grandfather. Returning there year after year brought Nancy immense joy and a deep sense of connection to family history and the natural surroundings she loved so dearly.

Nancy had a tender heart for animals and could never understand identifying as either a “cat person” or a “dog person”, as she found equally endearing traits in both. Horses also held a particularly special place in her heart throughout her life.

Above all, Nancy’s greatest joy was her family. She treasured time spent with loved ones across multiple generations, finding deep fulfillment in gatherings filled with laughter, stories, and shared traditions. Her faith was also an immensely important anchor in her life.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 6, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Emmaus Bible Church (220 N. 6th Ave., West Bend, WI 53095), with visitation prior from 11:30 A.M-12:45 P.M. Pastors David Brewer and Ron Risse will be officiating. To honor Nancy’s life, memorials may be made to Emmaus Bible Church.

Special thanks are extended to all of Nancy’s caregivers, particularly the staff at Compassionate Heights – West Bend, and to her nephew, John Schneider, for his dedication to Nancy and steadfast support of the family through the years. The family also thanks Phillip Funeral Home for their assistance.
