Obituary

Nancy Elizabeth LaJoice (Watson) of Jackson, Wis., born August 25, 1934, passed peacefully on Tuesday, April 29th, at the age of 90. Nancy was born the beloved daughter of Sophie and James (Doc) Watson, between her (late) big brother Jim and younger brother Joe. Nancy grew up racing ponies, riding horses, and playing polo. She and her brothers also rode horse-sleigh in the winter and buckboard in the summer. With support from her dad, and along with other neighborhood friends, Nancy was involved in the WW2 scrap metal, rubber, and newspaper fund drives. Kids drove their wagons around and collected scrap metal, rubber, and newspapers for the war effort.

Nancy was raised in Poland, Ohio and graduated from Poland Union High, and Ohio State University. She earned a master's degree in mathematics from Kent State in the '70s, and taught at the university (and yes, she was there during the Kent State Massacre).  Nancy was an avid reader and learner, passionate about education throughout her life. She taught at the UWM Dyslexics Institute in West Bend, and was an accountant, bank officer, and IRS manager.  For many years family members appreciated her help with math tutoring and filing annual taxes!

Nancy and her late husband, Bob, were dedicated to each other and their large extended family. They raised their boys in Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, Massachusetts, Chicago, and then Jackson Wi where they resided for over 45 years. Nancy maintained a lovely home, welcoming friends and family any time to enjoy her baking, canning, and year long celebrations and holidays. With a strong enthusiasm for gardening, Nancy always had a beautiful yard and gardens. Some of Nancy's hobbies included sailing, coin collecting for grandchildren, sewing, knitting, camping, and traveling.

Nancy's memory will forever be cherished by her four loving and devoted sons, Bob (Diane), Bill (Gale), Pete (Joanne), and Charlie (Bernie); grandchildren Missy (Dylan), Bobby (Gina), Lucas (Megan), Jeremy (Jessica), Seth, Tony, Nicholas (Beth), Andrew (Nate), and Paige; as well as all her great-grandchildren, Curtis, Dylan, Emry, Remington, Tiberius, Reagan, Levi, and Athena, whom she loved greatly; and her brother Joe (Mary) Watson, her brother-in-law Tony (Debbie) Lajoice, sister-in-law Linda (Ed) Neimi and their families, and all her nieces, nephews, and cousins. You were all important to Nancy and Bob. Nancy is preceded in death by her brother Jim (Doris) Watson, Jimmer Watson, Myrna (Vernon) Brown, and Pat (Rosie) LaJoice.
