Michael John Wendelborn, age 65, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 23, 2026 at home in Allenton surrounded by family. He was born on June 1, 1961 to the late Ronald and Bonnie (nee Flint) Wendelborn. Mike graduated from Germantown High School in 1979 and in 1999 went on to MPTC to obtain his associate degree in Tool & Die. He worked at Super Steel Manufacturing from 1984 to 2008 as a Welder, following that he worked at the City of West Bend Sanitation Department until 2012 when he transferred to West Bend Water Utility where he completed his career January 31, 2025 due to ALS. Mike was a 4-H Leader for many years and a Lifetime Endowment Member of the NRA.

Mike married his love, Kim Schultz on June 5, 1993

Mike is survived by his wife of 33 years, Kim; daughters, Savanna (Dan) Schuette and Johnnajo Johnson; his grandchildren, Mason, Chase, Gabriel and Thomas Schuette, Nikolynn, Zoe and Wyatt Johnson; father-in-law, Allan Schultz; best friend, Shawn (Bridget) McCarthy and brother Stephen (Christine) Wendelborn. He is further survived by his West Bend Water Utility family, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents; brother, David Wendelborn and mother-in-law, Carol Schultz-Schaefer.

A Liturgy of the Word Service will be at 6:00pm on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at the Phillip Funeral Home (1420 W Paradise DR. West Bend, WI 53095) with dear friend Fr. Mark Jones presiding. Family will greet guests at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 2nd from 2:00pm until 5:45pm. Interment will be Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 11:00am at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Kewaskum.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the family to be used to support Opals 4 ALS and other local ALS families.

A heartfelt thank you to the Preceptor Home & Hospice team; Marsha, Renee, Skyler, Barb and Kori for their compassionate care given to Mike.
