Matthew Ernest Michaels, 43, of West Bend, Wisconsin, was called home to be with the Lord on January 13, 2026, at Community Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls, surrounded by family.

Matthew was born on December 18, 1982, in West Bend, Wisconsin, to Gordon Carl Michaels and Kathy Jean (Brunhart) Michaels. He was deeply loved, and we trust in God’s mercy, grace, and the promise that Matthew now knows peace.

Matthew attended Kewaskum High School. He spent much of his life working on his family’s dairy farm and was most recently employed by Arnold’s Environmental.

A person of deep faith, Matthew was a devoted member of Open Door Bible Church in Port Washington, where his faith guided his life and brought comfort, strength, and hope. He loved sports, especially the Green Bay Packers and playing the guitar.

Matthew is survived by his parents, Gordon and Kathy Michaels; his sisters, Tammy Michaels and Jaclyn (Ray) Vazquez; his girlfriend, Rachel Zephyr Howell; Julie Michaels and nine nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Benjamin Gordon Michaels; his grandparents, Lloyd and Phyllis Painter, Robert Brunhart, and Carl and Norma Michaels.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 24 from 1:00-3:00pm at Open Door Bible Church 3420 Hy LL, Port Washington A memorial service and luncheon will follow at 3:00pm, with Pastor Sid officiating.
