After a hard-fought battle with cancer, Mark Vincent Wendt, age 76, of West Bend, Wisconsin, passed peacefully in his sleep at home on August 28th, 2026.
Born on April 13th, 1950, in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, Mark was the first-born son of Vincent and Gloria Wendt (nee Frase). He was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School [Class of 1968] and went on to earn his degree from Madison Business College [Class of 1972]. Following his education, Mark enjoyed a long and successful career in sales with Viking and Olympic Steel.
In 1976, Mark married Mary Linda Clanton, and her daughter. Together, they were blessed with two sons and shared more than fifty wonderful years raising their family, spending time at their cabin, fishing, traveling, singing in honky-tonks, and watching their grandchildren grow.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Keith Steiner; and his brother, John Steiner.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Linda Wendt of West Bend, WI; his three children, Brenna (Brian) Kehres of Las Cruces, NM, Nicholas (Tianne) Wendt of Neosho, WI, Michael (Becky) Wendt of West Lafayette, IN, his six grandchildren Brady, Gabriel, Brandon, Maya, Grace, Isaac, brother Tom (Mary) Wendt of Florence, WI and brother Jim (Terri) Wendt of Florence, WI.
A Catholic Mass will be celebrated at Saint Frances Cabrini Church in West Bend on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 11:00am. Visitation will be from 10:00-10:45 am. Burial will take place at Washington County Memorial Park at 2:00 pm.
