Obituary

Marjorie Ann Krueger (nee Bisset), age 92, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at Cedar Lake Health Center & Rehab, West Bend. She was born on March 14, 1933 in Andover, Massachusetts to Alfred and Mary (nee Campbell) Bisset.

Marj met Wayne Krueger at West Division High School in Milwaukee during her sophomore year. After dating through high school both attended Wisconsin State College-Milwaukee. Marj earned her Upper Elementary Education degree in 1955. She was united in marriage to Wayne on August 22th, 1955. The Kruegers lived in Merrill, WI for a short time before Wayne was called to serve his country in Germany. Marj followed him overseas shortly thereafter. While living abroad she taught English to American children on the military base. Upon returning to the U.S. they put down roots in Hartford, Wisconsin after Wayne accepted an opportunity to start the Art Department at Hartford Union High School. Marj took a teaching position at Saylesville Elementary. When it was time to start a family, she left teaching and became a full-time mom. When Wayne passed away at the young age of 44, she would return to school and earn a degree in Library Science. Shortly thereafter she became a librarian at Neosho Elementary.

Marj was always willing to help people and be involved in her community. She was a part of AAUW (American Association of University Women), a long time Red Cross Volunteer aand also received a distinguished service award from the Hartford Recreation Commission.  Marj was active in Church Women United. She served on St. John's UCC Church Council for many years and was the council president. She attended St. John's for more than 55 years and loved her church family dearly. As a result she was a strong woman of faith which helped guide her through life. She recently joined Immanuel UCC, West Bend after moving to New Perspective Senior Living in December of 2020.

In her younger years, Marj enjoyed playing golf at the Hartford Country Club. Later in life a good game of bridge or reading a book for book club kept her occupied, and seeing her grandkids always brightened her day. No weekend was ever complete without watching a PGA golf event and cheering on her favorite golfers. In her final days, she was surrounded by family, in good spirits and was looking forward to meeting Jesus and being reunited with her husband.

Marj is survived by her children, Todd (Denise) Krueger, Brian (Angi) Krueger, Jay (Shelly) Krueger, and Amy Schmitt. Grandchildren; Alyssa, Joshua, Ross (Katelyn), Jace, Isabel Krueger; Olivia (Jake) Fischer and Austin and Madison Schmitt. Great-grandchildren: Quinn and Lillia Krueger; Lainey and Ozzy Fischer.
