Marion Lucille Ward (nee Otto), age 90, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2016. She was born on June 7, 1926 in Jackson, WI to Charles and Augusta (nee Dautermann) Otto. She graduated from West Bend High School in 1944 and then married Joe Ward on October 27, 1962. Marion was employed at the Coca-Cola Company and Schlitz Brewing Company in Milwaukee. She was a member of the Schlitz Retirees and Emmanuel U.C.C. of West Bend.
Marion enjoyed playing the organ for many years at St. Peters U.C.C. in Jackson. She loved to travel and in 2007 completed visiting all 50 states with a trip to Hawaii. Marion was a special friend and caretaker to many relatives and friends. She received the Washington County Red Cross Real Heroes Senior Good Samaritan Award along with Joe in 2008. Marion was famous for her delicious Christmas cookies.
Marion is survived by her husband Joseph; sister Mildred Kaddatz; sister-in-law Winifred McKenzie; nieces and nephews Sharon Kaddatz, Tom Kaddatz, Sylvia Hazelwood, Ralph Otto, Susan (Richard) Weckworth, Glen (Mary) Otto, Gale (Ed) Wiersma, Maureen (Jack) Metzger, Kathy (Tim) Barnes, Terese Schmidt, Patty (Pat Cline) McKenzie, Ward (Marie) McCarragher; special cousins Joyce (John) Weigel. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Marion is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Paul Otto, Helen Kornburger, Carl Otto, Dorothy Baumbach and Herbert Otto.
A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W. Paradise Dr. West Bend, WI 53095) with Rev. Howard Kusler and Chaplain Ron Schneider presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10:30 am until the time of the service (12:00 pm). In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to the Lillian Fuller Scholarship Fund or the charity of your choice.
