Marian Lea (Whitney) Carter passed away peacefully at Linden Manor, Kewaunee, Wisconsin on Nov 29, 2022 at the age of 94. She was born on March 12, 1928 in Concordia, Kansas to her father Dr. Carl Jellison Whitney and mother Carrie Marjorie (Rassmussen) Whitney.

Marian, or "Grandy" as she was known to her family is survived by her two children, Elizabeth (Jerome) Liebherr of Kewaunee, WI and David Carter of Lomira, WI; grandchildren: Erick (Beth) Janisse, Jeremy (Nicole) Janisse, Jodi (Cory) Kanzenbach, Jessica (Kevin) Pamperin, Kari (Aga) Mrozek-Ley; six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She is further survived by her younger brother, Clayton J Whitney of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Vincent Carl (infant), and William Frances; two sisters Margaret Jane (infant) and Helen Carrie (Whitney) Reeves; two sisters-in-law, Dora (Bill) Whitney and Wilma (Clayton) Whitney; brother-in-law Bennett Reeves; and former husband, Donald W. Carter.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at the Phillip Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 6, 2022. Interment will follow. Please contact the family for details.
