Margaret Skelton, 96, of West Bend Wisconsin died on Friday evening January 2, 2026, surrounded by her family. At the time of her passing she was a resident of the Waterford of West Bend.
“Marge” was born April 26, 1929, to the late William and Caroline (Schwietzer) Jazak in Barton, Wisconsin and graduated from West Bend High School.
She went to work at the Wisconsin Telephone Company where she met and then married Norbert Skelton April 28, 1956, at St Mary’s Immaculate Conception Church in Barton.
After retiring from AT&T in 1984 Marge and her husband Norbert shared 19 years in retirement before his passing. They split time between their home in Langlade, WI and their West Bend residence. Above all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed cards, bingo and baking as well as walking her dog, Katie. She was a member of St. Francis Cabrini Church in West Bend.
Survivors include two children, David (Donna) Skelton of Harrisburg, PA, Michael (Mary) Skelton of Mayville, WI. Seven grandchildren, Abigail of Harrisburg, PA, Patrick of Baltimore, MD, Anthony of Fleetwood, PA, Amanda (Andrew Lechowicz) of Greenville, SC, Ryan of Fond du Lac, WI, Ashley Holt of Whitefish Bay, Allison (TJ Radloff) of Sheboygan, WI. Nine Great Grandchildren, Madison & Jayse Skelton, Adalyn & Anslie Lechowicz, Nolan & Conner Holt, Theodore, Cole and Scarlette Radloff. Brothers and sisters-in-law Rosemary Ish of Germantown, Francis (Lorry) Skelton of Manitowoc, Joanne Wirth of Oak Creek, and Robert (Karen) Skelton of Sheboygan
She was preceded in death by her husband Norbert, son Patrick, grandson Jason, brothers Victor Jazak, Joseph Jazak, sisters Helen Brodzeller, Marie Braatz. Brother and sisters-in-law, Dorthy Jazak, Sylvester Brodzeller, Hank Braatz, Wallace Ish, Herbert Wirth, and Ray & Angie Skelton.
A funeral mass will be held Friday January 9, at 2:00 PM at St Francis Cabrini in West Bend which will be officiated by Father Jacob Strand. The mass will be preceded by visitation with the family starting at 12:30 PM also at St. Francis Cabrini.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials to a charity of donor’s choice would be appreciated.
