Dr. Louise Clara Hilty

On Wednesday, May 14, 2025, Louise Clara Hilty, age 89, passed away peacefully at Cedar Ridge Community in West Bend, Wisconsin.
Born in Milwaukee, WI to John and Martha (nee Scroczynski) Hilty. Graduated from Maquette Medical School in 1960, was Chief of Psychiatry at El Camino Hospital in Mt. View, CA and also in private practice. She later joined the VA Hospital in Palo Alto and retired as Chief of the Cornerstone Alcohol & Drug Rehab Program. After retirement, she returned to Wisconsin in 1998 to live at Cedar Ridge Community and to be close to her family and friends.
She was a voracious reader and was known to routinely read an entire book in just one day. She particularly enjoyed biographies, science fiction, "historically accurate" novels and anything having to do with new medical advances. In addition, Louise loved to discuss world events and enjoyed exercising multiple times a day.
Louise was preceded in death by her only child, Neal and husband, Art. She is survived by her two nieces, Dawn Schumacher and partner, Dick; Carol (Jim) Robb; 4 nephews and one great nephew.
A memorial service will be held later this summer.
